The Navy Pier
From our research, it seemed the place to go in Chicago is the Navy Pier, it's kind of a mini-amusement park on the pier over-looking the water. It was a great place to go with the kids, they had rides and booths for food and little knick-knack shops and all kinds of
boats for Connor to watch including a tall ship that went out on tours. All the rain from yesterday was completely gone, we had a bit of wind off the water, but it was a gorgeous day. The one thing we hadn't factored in was the fact that Chicago is, in some places 3 complete levels of roads on top of one another, which can all access different areas, so, while we found the pier without incident, getting to it took a bit longer. However this gave us an opportunity to see more of Chicago in better weather and it truly is a beautiful city worth spending more time in. All this sightseeing put us a couple of hours off schedule to go on to our next stop in Tomah Wisconsin about 4 hours away. We got there, again without incident, and prepared for the next days trip to Minneapolis.
